challenge:
Design an immersive application that allows employees to practice having difficult conversations with colleagues or clients while maintaining live access to a coach for classroom facilitation.
Solution:
In collaboration with Proteus, a leading corporate leadership curriculum design firm, Variable Labs created two applications that allow a user to navigate challenging workplace scenarios. Whether confronting a colleague for his negative behavior or delivering the news to clients that a project has run over budget and beyond scope, the user’s experience changes as she decides which direction to take the conversation, experiencing both successes and missteps.

For this project, Variable Labs also developed an web application that allows a coach or teacher to monitor in real time a student’s decision making process as they traverse the interactive apps. Two-way voice communication gives the user the ability to ask an instructor questions and the teacher to provide feedback from anywhere in the world with an internet connection.
